Breastpump Troubleshooting

Please refer to the manual that comes along with your breastpump for instructions on pump set-up and use. Feel free to contact us if you have further questions.

What should I do if the pump won't start?

Check if the pump is plugged in to the power outlet correctly.
If the pump is battery-powered, check if the batteries are full or recharged.

The pump has weak suction

Check if the valves are clean (no debris) and intact.
Check if the breastkit is assembled correctly (membranes are attached, bottle is tightly screwed on to the breastkit and the breastkits, tubes and pump are firmly attached to each other).
If you're using only a single breastkit, ensure that the other suction hole is covered.

Milk has entered the tube

Disconnect the tubes from the pump and breastkit and shoot either sterile water and/or alcohol through the tubes. Hang the tubes in an open-air area to dry. Wait for the alcohol to dry up before using again.
To prevent milk from entering the tubes and the pump, do not overfill the bottles and keep them in an upright position.

I'm not getting enough milk
Pump every 2-3 hours to keep your milk supply up while you're away with baby. Your body will produce less milk if the intervals between pumping increase.
It also takes time to get used to a new pump, especially if you've been using another pump or have been pumping for more than a year. Keep practicing with your new pump and you will soon be able to get more milk.
